Country update, August 2004 - Set-up of the C Band earth station

This page describes the set-up at the physical layer only. No IP configuration is show there. I want to take opportunity of that page to save the various set-up of the equipments.

The ground station for the bi-directional link is composed of following equipment: 3.8 meters Prodelin C-band antenna [initial configuration] AnaCom 60 Watts satellite tranceiver, also called ODU (OutDoor Unit) or HPA (High power Amplifier) [initial configuration] SDM-300A, Comtech ef data satellite modem, also known as IDU (InDoor Unit) [initial configuration] Cisco 2600 to bridge between serial RS422/449 and Ethernet [initial configuration] Uplink converter from 70 MHz IF to L band by Qintech (no configuration) Sony satellite receiver SNR-PS 1000 [initial configuration] 2 Pentium, under FreeBSD, running as an Internet router 2 dividers/combiners to split/merge the IF signal (no configuration)
