dc.description.abstract As technology changed to web based business tr end, nearly all business have to maintain a database either a centralized one or web based database. Theref ore, most of the application developers need to have knowle dge about the database connectiv ity, so that they can make use of databases in their ap plications. Not only for the a pplication programmers, since programming with database connectivity is becoming a ba sic programming practice in computer science. Since, programming with database connectivity is a wide area to teach in detail, the objective of the study is to implement the learning objects for teaching and learning database connectivity in Java programming language by us ing JDBC. This learning object can be used to teach computer science students in university undergraduate courses. The proposed system is an integration of learning object technology, question and answer framework, the extension of BlueJ environmen t. As the proposed learning object can be decomposed into eight different single learning objects itself, th e learner can learn in his own approach and rate. With various examples, it will help the learner able to improve their programming skills and self taught abilities.
