Abstract:
Web Services enable machine-to-machine inter
operation in a distributed computation system.
Deployment of their full potential by Enterprise
Application Integratio
n (EAI) is the main
aim. The present methodology provides an appr
opriate conceptual model for the development
of Web services from legacy applications. In
itially, the legacy environment approach and
building of the connector to a
certain legacy environment by m
eans of Java is focused on
demonstration. Subsequently, at the implemen
tation phase, the communication between Java
connectors and legacy files and databases is demo
nstrated. A prototype tool is then applied for
generating certain necessary files from a Java
connector in several wr
apping scenarios as Web
services and invocation of service from
client applications is described.
Various technologies, currently ava
ilable, are also referred to as
well as their employment in
the development of Web Services, EAI,
Java Technology and Web service tools.
