dc.description.abstract Computer Security plays a crucial role in the field of Computer Science. Vulnerabilities like buffer overflow in C were discovered in the early stages of programming languages and many more vulnerabilities are still continuously being discovered. As we know no programming language is completely secure. This research paper aims to provide the readers with information on one of the most common vulnerability in C that is buffer overflow and also some of the vulnerabilities in java web applications like SQL injection, Cross Site Scripting and Cross Site Request Forgery. These attacks as well as their prevention methods are described in the research study. And also for educational purposes a demonstration of these attacks is also given in this research study. It contains a detailed description of how these basic attacks are launched. en_US
