Abstract:
Educational organizations especially in primary education evaluate student performance on a
regular basis. This is done through examining students’ grades and performance in classes.
Examinations and test results, however, are not the only objective of educational
organizations. Educational organizations generally measure the performance by following the
guidelines set by the official standard. The standard focuses on administrative management,
faculty teaching service, and student performance.
This research proposes a performance measuring system framework that combined the
standards and non-standards performance measuring factors. The framework measures
performance of educational organization in five perspectives: 1) Financial Perspective, 2)
Customers Perspective, 3) Internal Process Perspective, 4) Learning and Growth and 5)
Social Physical and Behavioral Perspective. The framework provides guidelines in
Performance Measuring System (PMS) design and modeling. With the substantial school
data and measures gathered from all aspects, this research also proposes a dashboard module
with the designed PMS.
The developed PMS was evaluated by school administrators and instructors. The system was
compared with the traditional spreadsheet used in the case study school, in terms of speed
and ease of information-finding. Based on all evaluations results, PMS persisted features to
effectively present performance measures. The system demonstrated relevant performance
measures in different perspectives for educational organization.
