Abstract:
This study presents the implementation of a decision support system which assists in financial aid policy design. The system applies the concept of dynamic queries; enables user to assess the efficacy of financial aid policies through adjustment of policy’s attributes and instant responsive displays. The display helps user gain insight of the effects of financial aid policy on student enrollment. A user study was conducted to evaluate the user satisfaction of the system. Participants consisted of six field of study coordinators and former field of study coordinators at AIT, who have expertise in awarding financial aid. The experiment was conducted by asking participants to perform evaluating tasks and answer related questions, and then fill in questions regarding satisfaction with the system. The result showed that participants were satisfied with the system features and usability.
