The UNESCO Principal Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (PROPA) is co-sponsoring a major regional higher education conference in Tokyo from 8 to 10 July 1997 with the United Nations University (UNU), the Government of Japan, and the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP). The Conference will be concerned with national strategies and regional cooperation for the 21st century and will contribute recommendations to the 1998 UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education in Paris.
