H.E. Mr. Direk Charoenpol, Deputy Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of Thailand, had presided the inaugural ceremony of AIT Satellite Ground Station, on June 30th, 1997.

We were greeted by talks form ones and others.

Before the ribbon was cut by Prof. R. H. Downer, AIT president, and H.E. Mr. Direk Charoenpol.

In the mean time, fever was growing in the satellite control room. Kneeling to check the machines installed on the floor, crawling under the tables to fasten some connection... Until... The first images from Hong Kong were available, many thanks to our Japaneses partners who have made it available.
